How to Do It

1. Schedule a winterization appointment with an irrigation professional in early fall, before overnight temperatures drop to freezing.
2. Confirm the pro will blow out each zone individually using an air compressor to clear all water from the lines.
3. Ask the pro to inspect backflow preventers and valves for any damage while the system is being serviced.
4. After the appointment, verify the system controller is set to its off or rain mode for the season.
