Power wash siding and walkways
Short answer
Each spring, power wash siding and walkways at 1500-2000 PSI, working top-down and keeping the nozzle 12 or more inches from the surface.
Why It Matters
Mildew, dirt, and algae degrade siding finishes and make walkways slippery. Annual washing extends paint life and curb appeal.
Tools
- Pressure washer
- Garden hose
How to Do It
- Connect the pressure washer to your water supply and set it to 1500-2000 PSI.
- Start at the top of the siding and work downward in overlapping passes, keeping the nozzle at least 12 inches from the surface.
- Hold the nozzle at a downward angle so water does not spray up under siding laps.
- Move across each section steadily, letting water carry loosened mildew, dirt, and algae down and away.
- Wash walkways last, directing runoff away from the foundation.
