Reinstall lawnmower battery
Short answer
Each spring, pull the battery from indoor storage, charge it fully if needed, reinstall it in the mower, and confirm the safety key and power work.
Why It Matters
Battery mowers stored over winter need the battery reconnected (and often topped up) before the first mow.
How to Do It
- Retrieve the battery from wherever you stored it indoors over winter.
- Check the charge level. If it's not full, connect it to a compatible charger and charge to 100% before proceeding.
- Install the battery in the mower's battery compartment, seating it firmly until it clicks or locks into place.
- Insert the safety key and press the power button to confirm the mower powers on.
- If the mower doesn't start, reseat the battery and check that the safety key is fully engaged.
