Tools

  • Non-abrasive scrub pad
  • Cloths

Materials

  • Kitchen degreaser

How to Do It

  1. Remove the range hood filters and set them aside.
  2. Spray kitchen degreaser on the underside of the hood and let it sit for a minute or two to loosen grease.
  3. Scrub the underside with a non-abrasive scrub pad, working from the edges toward the center where grease tends to pool.
  4. Apply degreaser to the fan housing and scrub with the pad, reaching into the housing as far as visibility allows.
  5. Wipe the visible blower blades with a degreaser-dampened scrub pad, removing any grease buildup.
  6. Wipe all cleaned surfaces with a damp cloth to remove degreaser residue, then dry with a clean cloth before reinstalling the filters.
