Range Hood
The range hood pulls cooking smoke, grease, and vapors out of the kitchen. Keeping filters and ducts clear prevents grease buildup that restricts airflow and can ignite over burners.
Range Hood Tasks
- Clean and degrease range hood duct
Once a year, remove the filters, wipe accessible duct surfaces with degreaser, and hire a vent cleaner if the duct is long or twisted.
- Clean range hood grease filters
Every three months, slide out the mesh filters, soak and scrub them with hot water and degreaser or dish soap, then dry and reinstall.
- Deep clean range hood
Quarterly, degrease the underside, fan housing, and visible blower blades with kitchen degreaser and a non-abrasive scrub pad.
