Windows

Windows admit light and ventilation while sealing out weather, pests, and drafts. Keeping the glass, frames, tracks, and seals in good condition protects the surrounding wall assembly from water damage.

Windows Tasks

  • Clean window screens

Each spring, pop out screens, scrub with soapy water and a soft brush, rinse with a hose, and reinstall dry.

  • Clean window tracks and weep holes

Each spring, vacuum window tracks, wipe them clean, and clear weep holes at the outside bottom of the sill with a toothpick or wire.
